About the Event

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) will hold it's annual 2024 Virtual NHSN Post-Acute Care Training: Long-term Care, Dialysis, and Vaccination Surveillance and Analytics on July 23, 2024 – July 25, 2024.

This course is intended for NHSN users of the Long-term Care Facility Component and the Dialysis Component.

The virtual training event will feature on-demand training videos, live presentations, pre-recorded training videos for self-paced viewing, and opportunities for Q&A.

Training topics include surveillance definitions and analysis for:

  • COVID-19 Surveillance
  • Respiratory Pathogen Reporting
  • Resident, Patient, and Healthcare Personnel Vaccination
  • Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs)
  • Dialysis Event Surveillance
  • Standardized Infection Ration (SIR) Reporting

The virtual courses provide users with the opportunity to gain a better understanding of their NHSN surveillance data and how these data can be used for prevention.
